World University of Bangladesh (WUB) March 20, 2011 honoured two eminent figures of the country with gold medals for their outstanding contribution to the language movement and the War of Liberation.
Language hero Ahmed Rafiq and freedom fighter Abdul Quddus Makhon (posthumous) were respectively the recipients of the gold medals.
WUB organised a programme in this connection at the Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium. A freshers' reception was also held on the occasion.
State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Capt (Retd) AB Tajul Islam attended the function as the chief guest, State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Capt (Retd) Mozibur Rahman Fakir as the special guest and Mizanur Rahman, Secretary -Liberation War Affairs Ministry as the guest of honour.
