Admission Eligibility for Different Programs at DIU

1. Admission Requirement for B.Sc in Computer Science & Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Textile Engineering/ Software Engineering/ Environmental Science and Disaster Management/ Applied Dietetics and Food Technology :

Students having minimum 2.5 GPA both in SSC and HSC from Science or any equivalent background with Mathematics & Physics may apply for admission in B. Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering/ Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Textile Engineering/ Software Engineering/ Environmental Science and Disaster Management/ Applied Dietetics and Food Technology.
Students completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects with at least GPA 2.5 (Below C grade in any subject is not acceptable) may apply for admission. The applicants must have Physics and Mathematics both at O-level and A-level.
         
2. Admission Requirement for Bachelor of Pharmacy/ B. Pharm. (Hon’s)

Students having minimum 2.5 GPA both in SSC and HSC from Science or any equivalent background with Biology may apply.
Students completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects with at least GPA 2.5 (Below C grade in any subject is not acceptable) may apply for admission. The applicants must have Biology both at O-level and A-level.

3. Admission Requirement for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)/ Bachelor of Real Estate (BRE)/ B.Com Hon’s/ B.A Hon’s in English/ LL.B Hon’s/ BSS in Journalism and Mass communication:

Students having minimum 2.5 GPA both in SSC and HSC or any equivalent background from any group may apply for admission in BBA. Completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects with at least GPA 2.5 (Below C grade in any subject is not acceptable) may apply for admission. 

4. Admission Requirement for Masters of Business Administration (MBA):
Regular:
Students having minimum 6 point up to graduation from any group like BBA/ B.Com Hon’s/ BA/ B.Sc/ M.Com/ MA/ M.Sc/ MBBS or any equivalent background may apply for admission in MBA (Regular) program.
Executive:

• BBA/ M.Com.   or
• MA/ M.Sc/ B. Sc Engineering/ MBBS/ PGDM or its equivalent with at least 2 years job experience.   Or
• B.Com (Hon’s) with 3 years job experience in related field.   Or
• Graduation with 4 years job experience in related field.

5. Admission Requirement for M.S. in Management Information System (M.S. in MIS)

4 years graduation in the field of Mathematics/Statistics/Physics or any other related field.
or
4 years graduation in the field of Business/Computing. They will be exempted some of the courses related to the subjects studied in graduation level.
or
Any graduation with minimum 4 years practical experience in the field of Business/Information Technology/Information Systems Management.

6. Admission Requirement for M. Sc in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (M. Sc in ETE)

• The applicant must have a 4-years Bachelor’s degree or a 3-years Bachelor’s degree with 1-years Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication Engineering or, Physics or, Applied Physics from a university or an accredited institution of higher education. However, applicants who do not have adequate background for the program may have to take additional remedial undergraduate level courses.
• The applicants having minimum CGPA of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0) or equivalent, or at least second class in the Bachelor’s degree are eligible for admission.
• The applicant must have completed the enlisted prerequisite courses or their equivalent. An applicant, not completing the enlisted prerequisite courses, will be admitted on condition that he/she completes these courses within two years.
• A maximum of 9 credits are transferable from other universities. The residency requirement is 21 credits including Master’s Thesis.

7. Admission Requirement for M. Sc in Computer Science & Engineering (M. Sc in CSE)

• Completion of B. Sc degree with strong background of Physics and Mathematics from a university or an accredited institution of higher education.
• The applicant must have CGPA of 2.5 or above (in a scale of 4.0), or at least second class in the B. Sc degree. The applicant must have at least second division or GPA 2.5 in SSC and HSC.
• The applicant must have completed the enlisted prerequisite courses or their equivalent.
• Applicant, who has not completed the enlisted prerequisite course, will be admitted on condition that he/she will complete these courses in one or two semesters.

8. Admission Requirement for M. Sc in Textile Engineering (M. Sc in TE)

• Completion of Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering from a recognized university.
• The applicant having minimum CGPA of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0) or equivalent, or at least second class  in B. Sc in Textile Engineering. The applicant must have at least second division or GPA 2.5 in SSC and HSC. Completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects with at least GPA 2.5 (Below C grade in any subject is not acceptable) may apply for admission.

Evaluation of applicants for admission is based primarily on the student’s academic record in relevant undergraduate coursework. Applicants are expected to have sufficient knowledge in mathematics at undergraduate level.

9. Admission Requirement for MA (Final) in English
The students who have previously obtained BA (Hon’s) in English from any recognized University are eligible to get admission in MA (Final) English. A result below 2.5 in any examination is not allowed to apply.

10. Admission Requirement for LL.B (2 years)

• Candidates seeking admission to this program should have at least graduation from any recognized university.
• The applicant must have CGPA of 2.5 or above (in a scale of 4.0), or at least second class in the Bachelor degree. The applicant must have at least second division or GPA 2.5 in SSC and HSC or Completing five O-level subjects and at least two A-level subjects with at least GPA 2.5 (Below C grade in any subject is not acceptable) may apply for admission.

11. Admission Requirement for LL.M

• In order to take admission in LL.M preliminary part a student must have at least LL.B degree from a recognized university with a second class or CGPA 2.5.
• Candidates seeking admission to LL.M final part should have at least LL.B (Hon’s) degree from any recognized university with second class or CGPA 2.5; or passed LL.M preliminary part with CGPA 2.5.
