Bhavnagar University was established in 1the year 1978 by the state of Gujarat. Since its inception, the university has been imparting quality education in wide- ranging disciplines such as Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, Management, Rural Studies and Law stream.

Presently, the university offers its programmes through its 20 Post Graduate Departments and 4 Recognized Institutes.
