1. Academic Scholarships
The CIU encourages academic success by offering scholarships. Most students benefit from these scholarship and the discount on tuition:
a. Special Offers Scholarships (only applicable to Turkish citizens)
Education + Accommodation (2 people) + food (3 meals) = €4,800 *
5% VAT, €320 fee and €100 book charge are not included in this price.
Departments that include Special Package Scholarship are:
Business Administration
International Relations
European Union Relations
Journalism
Advertising and Public Relations
Radio and Television
Visual Communication Design
Arts and Crafts Teaching
Industrial Product Design
Graphic Design
English Language Teaching
English Language and Literature
b. Order of Preference Scholarship (only applicable to Turkish citizens)
Order of Preference Scholarship, except for the Faculty of Education Departments, is given as 25% for students that placed it for their first preference and 10% for those that placed it for their second.
c. Graduate Transfer Exam Scholarships (Prep. School is included)
A 25% scholarship is provided for students who preferred it and were placed at CIU following a Graduate Transfer Exam.
d. OSYM Scholarship (only applicable to Turkish citizens)
Following the results of Student Selection and Placement Exam, organised by OSYM, students who have the chance to register to the departments that includes a scholarship can benefit from this opportunity.
e. CIU Entrance Exam Scholarship
A University Entrance Exam is organised every year for TRNC citizens who have graduated from TRNC high schools. Students who are able to register with the CIU upon successfully completing of this exam can benefit from this scholarship opportunity following a decision by the Board of Trustees. In the 2010 to 2011 academic year, within this context, scholarships of 100% (for 250 students), 75% (for 250 students) and 50% (for 600 students) will be available.
f. Academic Achievement Scholarships
Discounts of 25, 50 and 75% are provided for the students who have studied for at least two terms and achieved at least 3.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) and 3.50 Grade Point Average (GPA) according to their achievement level.
g. Scholarship for students whose parents are Teachers
25% scholarships are given to students whose parents are teachers.
h. Scholarship for Children of members of Armed Forces
50% scholarships will be given to students whose parents are currently in charge of, or retired from, the Turkish Armed Forces and the TRNC Security Forces.

For the top 1,000 students in any one of LYS scores:
- exemption from education fee
- € 300 spending money for a period of 10 months
- textbooks
- Turkey-TRNC round trip air ticket twice a year.
2. Tuition Discounts
a. Sibling Discount
25% discount is provided for each of the siblings.
Important information
- The total of a scholarship and the discount cannot be more than 50%.
- OSS Score Scholarships and Preference Order Scholarships are academic scholarship and are given according to the student’s achievement. Because they are academic scholarships they cannot be combined.
- Scholarships at CIU continue for two years for Associate Degree, four years for undergraduate education if the student’s Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is 2.00 or more out of 4.00.
- Scholarships are not available in the departments that accept students with special aptitude exams. The CIU holds the right to make changes to any of this information, the fees and the programs (Except Sibling Discount).

The quotas determined by the CIU allow that, in the 2010-2011 Academic Year, 100% scholarships are available to TRNC citizens. Those wishing to receive information on scholarship requirements and details should get in touch with the Student Affairs Office at the CIU.
